This was the 4th Agatha Christie book I've read. It was not bad, but I think my least favorite Agatha book so far.

I was really interested in the book when I first began reading it (also was riding off the high from reading and loving her Crooked House). For the plotline, of course we knew Caroline didn't actually do the crime, so I was p interested to know who rlly did it and how things acc transpired when all the circumstantial evidence and witness accounts point to her. However, at some point in the middle of the book... my interest waned. I think it was around halfway that it started to get exhausting esp reading everybody's accounts of the situation. I know it's important for the detail but as I saw somebody else say online, it was indeed repetitive.

Then came the end of the book when Poirot got to really utilize his grey cells. At this point I felt a lot more interested again since we were finally gonna get to what happened. Also, of course, Agatha hit us with the classic boom! plot twists. She also did the classic "oh so it was them... but ACKshually- it's... not!" That was a nice touch and yes I was momentarily fooled. However, then came the final aftermath chapter and honestly the ending felt kind of disappointing to me and rushed. I knew I was nearing the end of the book but it was one of those that's it? moments.

So all in all, it was fine. I still did enjoy it somewhat. Not my fav from her but not necessarily bad.

As always, a solid mystery where I thought I knew the murderer but was definitely wrong!
