BEYOND GALAXY'S EDGE was a fun, action packed romance that pits two "enemies" against each other only to discover they have a lot more in common then they ever expected. Nissa has been after Justyn for years now but has never been able to actually catch him doing something illegal. This cat and mouse game has frustrated and intrigued Nissa but the straight-laced Captain knows that nothing can come of her attraction to Justyn. With an easy smile and a load of charm, Justyn seems like he doesn't care about anything but underneath it all he's actually fallen hard for Nissa. I loved how confident Justyn was and how much he respects Nissa for exactly who she is; he truly wants Nissa to be happy even if it means she won't be with him.

Patrol Captain Nissa Sander is sent to recover the US Constitution from thieves, and temporarily apprehends suspected smuggler Justyn Phoenix’s ship in search of it. When it turns out he hasn’t stolen it, he offers to go with her in search of it. Justyn Phoenix has been in love with Nissa for years. Now is his chance to spend some time with her when she’s not trying to arrest him.
In so much m/f science fiction romance, the hero is the alien abductor who’s near human but has some, er, alien attributes, which overwhelm the human heroine. Our heroine, Nissa Sander, has some reptilian background. She’s bald (yay!), can’t tolerate cold very well, and has scale-looking patterns over her face and lots of her body. It’s worth noting that she got these attributes from her mother, so our hero is not the only one who finds women with yellow eyes and elongated pupils attractive. When she was introduced in a previous book, his female cousin notes that she is aesthetically appealing as well. Justyn repeatedly calls Nissa “Captain Smooth”, which reminds us all that she doesn’t look completely human-as-we-know-it, but doesn’t denigrate her differences. Uh, if I am wrong about the perception, the lizard people are welcome to correct me and chew me out.
The action-adventure parts of the book are fast-paced and linear. The baddies in this book are rather green and tentacular. My partner has a major phobia of killer plants. If you’re like him, I’d give this book a pass. They’re pretty vivid in this story, and I enjoyed the scenes starring them, but I’m sure said scenes will be nightmare fuel for some. The final action sequence gets a bit surreal, but crazy things happen at Galaxy’s Edge.
As for the romance, it’s hot, but also very sweet. Justyn wants what’s best for Nissa, even if that doesn’t include him. Nissa’s initial hesitation to enter a relationship is well-justified, but once she makes up her mind, she’s loyal and enthusiastic about their involvement. They’ve known each other for years and like each other just as they are, which makes the fast fall on her part more convincing. The story delivers as advertised: action-packed tightly-woven adventure romance with spaceships and treasure hunting. If you like any of these, give Beyond Galaxy’s Edge a read!

GSS patrol Captain Nissa Sanders has spent three years at galaxy’s edge keeping law and order, and chasing the smuggler Justyn Phoenix. When one of the U.S. Constitution is stolen, Nissa finds herself teaming up with Justyn to track down the document.
This was another action packed adventure. Nissa and Justyn have been playing a game of cat and mouse for years now. Justyn is a charming and easy going man, but he has been hiding how he feels about Nissa for years now. I enjoyed how confident Justyn was and how he always pushing for Nissa to find her happiness, not what was pushed on her.
Nissa is the opposite of Justyn. She is a rule follower and more serious. These two may be opposites but they really worked well together and make a great treasure hunting team. Also, I love that Nissa has a more alien appearance with scales and yellow eyes. She is unique and sounds like a beautiful woman. Hopefully we will see more unique aliens and creatures in the rest of the series.
I am enjoying the other Phoenix brothers a lot so far. I really can’t wait to learn more about them and see them fall in love.

Nissa Sander thinks Justyn Phoenix is the biggest smuggler this side of the galaxy. If only she could catch him in the act. But the criminally gorgeous man keeps slipping through her carefully crafted traps!!! When the ancient US Declaration of Independence goes missing and he's caught on the ship where it had been held, she finally thinks she's caught him. But as the story unfurls Nissa and Justyn reluctantly join forces to seek the relic on a Steampunk inspired world.
Finally a not quite human heroine who has ensnared the hunky adventurer with her...shiny head and scales!!!!!!! Nissa is a brilliantly non traditional heroine and she rocks hers differences!!! Justyn is Indiana Jones in space/Han Solo (my two favourite characters ever)!!! I really enjoyed this rip-roaring trek through the galaxy on the hunt for terran treasures!!!
Finally a not quite human heroine who has ensnared the hunky adventurer with her...shiny head and scales!!!!!!! Nissa is a brilliantly non traditional heroine and she rocks hers differences!!! Justyn is Indiana Jones in space/Han Solo (my two favourite characters ever)!!! I really enjoyed this rip-roaring trek through the galaxy on the hunt for terran treasures!!!
