I really appreciated the wholistic look at abuse, narcissistic family structures, wealth, community. It was a well written book, especially for the genre. Enjoyable read.

My Abby Jimenez journey started out of order with Just for the Summer, so I knew I wanted to backtrack and begin with Part of Your World.

I loved Alexis' and Daniel's story -- how they met, the small-town magic of Wakan (both literally and figuratively), their age gap and lifestyle differences, Alexis' Montgomery family legacy, but most of all how down bad Daniel was for Alexis.

It's been awhile since a book has made me tear up, but POTW broke that streak with the last few chapters:

• "Love follows you. It goes where you go. It doesn't know about social divides or distance or common sense. It doesn't even stop when the person you love dies. It does what it wants."
• "All we had was our love for each other. That's all we had. None of the other parts worked or fit or made sense. But I didn't need it to make sense, because for me the love was everything, it was all I needed."
• "I love Daniel more than I've ever loved anyone, but it doesn't make the rest of it disappear." "It's not supposed to make it disappear. It just prioritizes things." (Side note: we all need a BFF like Bri.)
• "I realized when you hit zero fucks, that's when negotiations begin."

I could FEEL Alexis' and Daniel's first phone call after

they broke up -- the raw emotion, the yearning, the pain.

The ballroom scene at the fundraising event was also perfect.

It was fun getting the backstory of the characters who appeared in JFTS and I'll be reading Yours Truly next.
