It was such a cute story! It feels like I'm on vacation at Wakan every time Alexis goes there. Such a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed and loved it!

I can't wait to read the next books in this series ๐Ÿฅฐ

Iโ€™m a hater to my core. I really am. Any other day I absolutely hate contemporary romance with every fiber of my being, but the way that I feel about this book? Who am I?

Donโ€™t get me wrong, there were moments where I put down this book because it wasnโ€™t as interesting as other books I was reading at the time. There were also moments in this book where it was very cliche, read like a Hallmark movie, the writing wasnโ€™t as good in some parts as it was in others, and sometimes I just felt like the fmc was a little emotionally immature at times. But aside from all that, I didnโ€™t hate it.

I think the thing that truly moved this into 5 star territory for me was reading the authors note combined with the Q & A portion at the end of the book. Seeing how much research Abby Jiminez did and how many professionals/people were involved in the core idea for this book is exactly what I want to see from all authors in all books that I read, like letโ€™s just be real.

The book was good, the romance was cute, Daniel Grant is the man that literally every woman probably wishes they had, Alexis was a typical fmc, and some of the characters in the book I really wanna push off a cliff tbh. But, one thing that impressed me the most was the abuse and domestic violence portion. I thought it was amazing how the author handled it while also including scenes that could educate people reading this book on what emotional abuse actually looks and feels like. As someone who has been through emotional abuse, I really appreciated that especially with how Alexis grew as a character in regard to her trauma with her family. It ended up being really important to me even though there were many times where I did not like Alexis because she did not act like a 38 year old woman would irl (especially as a woman with immense privilege).

Furthermore, albeit rather typical in โ€œpart of your worldโ€ kinda stories, seeing the classism and elitism of other characters play out was actually pretty interesting considering the dynamic that Alexis and Daniel had and the stance that Daniel maintained throughout the story. Sometimes I just think that books with this trope of โ€œI canโ€™t love you because Iโ€™m rich and youโ€™re poor and therefore weโ€™re living in separate worldsโ€ is often overused and just predictable, but I actually enjoyed it here because most of Abby Jiminezโ€™s more detailed writing was when we got to see this level of classism and how it impacted the mentality and trauma of the main characters. It made it interesting and gave a good look at what led to the found family trope in Part of Your World. I was also very happy to see a book with an fmc, who works in the medical industry, actually talk and acknowledge wealth disparity and how access to medicine is not easy, and even moreso how underserved communities need to be taken care of. As someone who comes from an area and lives a life where that is very common, Iโ€™m glad itโ€™s being spoken about in a published book especially with recent cyclical chatter online being โ€œreading is not politicalโ€ whichโ€ฆ thatโ€™s just a wild take.

I will say though, I did predict the ending by at least chapter 5, and honestly I wasnโ€™t really disappointed by it. It was moreso one those moments where you say โ€œhaha I knew itโ€, but I personally donโ€™t see the main affect of this story being how the ending turned out, so Iโ€™m cool with it.

Overall, it was pretty good. It was a fun read. There were some moments that were pretty predictable, but I feel like there is more to take away from this book than just the romance and a fun time and I like seeing that in my books. So maybe Iโ€™m an Abby Jiminez fan ๐Ÿ‘€

In "Part of Your World" by Abby Jimenez, Alexis Montgomery's world turns upside down after a wild bet, a gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and a cuddle with a baby goat lead her to Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter ten years her junior. Despite their differences, their undeniable chemistry draws them together in the tight-knit town where Daniel lives. But as Alexis grapples with family expectations and career ambitions, she must decide whether to pursue a short-term fling with Daniel or risk everything for a chance at love.

So, small town romances? They're growing on me, and let me tell you, "Part of Your World" knocked it out of the park. I was all in from the get-go, diving headfirst into this charming setting filled with quirky characters and undeniable chemistry.

Now, let's talk about Alexis and Daniel. These two? Absolute gems. Despite their differences, their connection is electric, and I couldn't help but root for them every step of the way. And don't even get me started on Daniel โ€“ he's the epitome of the perfect boyfriend, despite Alexis not always treating him as such.

But what really stood out to me was the depth of the family dynamics. Both Alexis and Daniel grapple with toxic parents, adding layers of complexity to their relationship. Abby Jimenez handled these difficult topics with grace and maturity while still keeping the overall tone fun and lighthearted.

From the enchanting small town to the empowering moments of self-discovery, "Part of Your World" had me hooked from start to finish. Alexis's journey towards recognizing her worth left me feeling empowered, and Daniel? Well, let's just say he's the cinnamon roll hero we all deserve.

If you're a fan of small-town romances, reverse age gaps, rom coms, and cute baby animals, then "Part of Your World" is a must-read. It's heartfelt, swoon-worthy, and guaranteed to leave you smiling long after you've turned the last page.

The romance scene had me kicking my feetโ€™s giggling. I got butterflies and the tingling feeling when Alexis talked about Daniel. I think I was more obsessed with the dog, Hunter, more than anything. He reminded me of my own fur babies. When Daniel gave Hunter the pep talks, I couldnโ€™t not stop laughing. If anything, read this book for the dog and a heartfelt MMC ๐Ÿ’•

i looooved this book so much. this was my first abby jimenez book & i cannot wait to continue reading this series and other books by her! ๐Ÿคฉ

i loved the sense of comfort and security that alexis and daniel provided for each other. despite not growing up the same way, they didnโ€™t let that impact how they treated people or each other. the way that they longed for each otherโ€™s love ugh ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿฝ

and the way that daniel stood up for alexis & supported her against her ex?? swooooon ๐Ÿ˜

this book had me in a chokehold. i finished it in less than 24 hours. if you havenโ€™t read this book yet, run now

โ€”

there also were a few connections to the little mermaid (despite the title, iโ€™m unsure if this was intended ended or not haha)
โœจ alexis has red hair
โœจ alexisโ€™ dad disapproves of her choices bc itโ€™s not what he had planned for her. this is similar to king triton having concerns for arielโ€™s choices, although his concerns were for safety & not of how her choices would impact their familyโ€™s image/legacy
โœจ the roles are kinda reversed compared to the little mermaid. alexis & her family are rich and well off, meanwhile in the little mermaid, prince eric & his family were royalty & well off
