Part of Your World is a reverse Cinderella story.  Alexis is royalty, in a way.  She is part of a family that has a big name in the medical community and a 125-year legacy.  Daniel is a carpenter and small town mayor who also runs a bed and breakfast.  Fog, a raccoon, and a bet conspire to bring Alexis and Daniel together.  Sparks fly and they feel an immediate connection.  How can this relationship work when they are literally from two very different worlds?

Characters were well developed.  Most of the characters were lovable.  Some were despicable.

One of the things I enjoyed the most was that I couldn't predict how it was going to end.  I found the ending to be extremely satisfying.

This book does deal with abusive relationships -  both psychological abuse and physical abuse.  It might be triggering to someone who is going through or has gone through similar situations.

Includes discussion questions for book clubs.

Recommended for people who like to read romances that seem destined to fail before they start and people who like to read books set in a small town.

Abby Jimenez is very good at writing about tough topics. I loved this book, I think it's my favorite of hers so far. I liked how the female was the figurative "breadwinner" meeting the small town guy, but it in no way diminished the skills and life the mmc had. I know they had their difficulties in figuring out where they fit in each other's lives but I think it was done in a low angst way. Like there wasn't this huge miscommunication going on which I personally appreciated. But there was this deep longing for each other that they were both willing to adjust to the others world just to be with them. I just loved it. I love how it displayed different forms of abuse and ways to get out of those situations and highlighting the importance of therapy. I just loved everything about this book.

I've finally realized what makes a romance a good book for me.  It's when the book deals with issues outside the quest for the "right guy." This book does that by dealing with the protagonist's lifetime of emotional abuse, her recovery from it, and ultimately figuring out what she wants her life to look like.
Throw in a touch of magic and plenty of humor, and I'm a fan.  And I learned how a male should properly take a picture of a "special" area in a laugh-out-loud scene!
