This book was phenomenal. I fell in love with Brianna, her friends and family and their lives, their minds, and their hearts.

Angie Thomas is officially one of my favorite authors now. I’ll read anything she writes from now on. She writes relationships so well. The Hate U Give has beautiful parent-child relationships, this book has beautiful sibling relationships.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Bahni Turpin is now my favorite. She also read The Hate U Give and The Sun is Also a Star. She’s so expressive and does different voices for all the characters. Her voice can go from strong to vulnerable in a breath. She’s so good 😍

This book was a really good read. I liked it a lot. The only thing that knocks it down is the fact I had a hard time connecting with Bri as a character. Overall another great Angie Thomas book!

This book certainly lives up to the hype. I was not expecting it, but I applaud Angie Thomas for being abe to shed light on racism and violence from the point of view of a strong and black 16-year-old named Bri Jackson. Certainly a must read for young adults, and even, adults.

This book was really good, it wasn’t quite as powerful as The Hate U Give, but it was still excellently dome and presents a really great message.
