It was really good, but the ending was too fast and it felt like there could have been so much more with the last few people and the ending

Super easy to read YA king book. It’s written in his iconic style, but you can definitely tell it’s older.

The concept of this book is truly horrific and unique despite being so simple. King added so much nuance to such a plain idea that adds layers to its brutality. I don’t know how he comes up with these ideas. I enjoyed reading the different characters attitudes and motivations for signing up, and I would have enjoyed exploring the idea of assisted suicide via the long walk.

Thanks Ellie for recommending this book!

Review is here.

"The others could die, they were extras in the movie of his life, but not Ray Garraty, star of that long-running hit film, The Ray Garraty Story."

Most interesting thing about it was the queer undertones!
