This is a joint review for TMNT Reborn Vol 7, TMNT The Armageddon Game, and TMNT The Armageddon Game—The Alliance.
First off, yes it is important to read these three books concurrently, otherwise you risk confusion and spoilers. That being said, this is absolutely an incredible run. It introduces new powers, new characters, new threats. The writers found a way to bring almost every important past character back in a way that felt necessary and not forced. It ties up so many loose ends but unravels a lot more, making me excited to see what comes next. The Alliance stories are probably the weakest of the three books, but I enjoyed it's focus on specific characters. The other two books are solid. It does end with a kind of sudden Deus Ex Machina, which is never my favorite, but I can look past that for the rest of what it accomplished.

Cool to see these characters come together, but ultimately not as fun as I wanted it to be.
Even though I haven't read TMNT or Ghostbusters comics, this sounded like an interesting cross-over idea. The story actually works, given the universes in which these characters exist. And the characters are well written, with their personalities coming through strongly. The issue I had with this was the art - I'm not a fan of the style, which made it difficult to fully enjoy. But that's personal taste more than anything, so if you like these characters I'd say give it a shot.

I love the Netgalley emails that have all the new Graphic Novels available. Most of the time they are Read Now titles. I don't always like the titles in those emails, but when I saw the Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters in one book I couldn't download this fast enough.
So there is a lot going on in this book for such a short story. We begin way way back in time with a few immortals fighting it out. There is some magic and Chi-you is sucked into a dimensional limbo. Flash forward to the present deep in the sewers. The Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles are working on e teleportation device like in Star Trek. A fly distracts the scientist helping them and boom, they are transported across dimensions to the New York of the Ghostbusters. This event frees Chi-you and allows him to gain his powers.
What follows is some cool action, awesome Ghostbusting and some cheesy one liners. I really enjoyed it. Both sets of characters have this goofy overall personality so they played very well in this book. The art work could have been a little better but some of the Ghostbusters looked pretty close to the original actors. This was a fun read and one that goes by very quickly. There isn't much dialogue for a comic because this relies heavily on the action. This was a lot of fun and I give it 4 out of 5 stars. This is definitely a pairing I'd like to see again.

Awesome sauce! Turtles and Ghostbusters. Egon and Donnie, Winston and Leo - the pairings are fantastic. The humor could have been turned up another notch (with this combination, the jokes are right there), but overall I enjoyed this.
On paper, this looks like an attempt to combine two popular 80s franchises. I guess you could still it is, but the story and the way the two groups mesh together really does work. I haven't read any of the preceding Ghostbusters volumes, but the issues here seem to capture them pretty well. It was interesting especially to see the interaction between Donatello and Egon. If the story was a little more interesting, this would definitely have been closer to a 4 or 4.5 star book. Worth a read if you are a fan of one or both.

I liked it. Crossovers are at their best when they have fun. The two sides meet each other. Geek out. And have an adventure.
Bonus points for the depiction of a shirtless ripped Casey Jones. It made me pine for some X-rated fan art.

A collection of the micro series that are constantly referenced in the main teenage mutant Ninja turtles comics. Pretty solid but I'm kind of surprised or not part of the main books.
I didn't like this volume as much as the first one but it was still fun. Just can't beat the mashing up of my two biggest childhood obsessions.
