I don't read much poetry, but this came across my feed and I thought I would give it a chance. I am so grateful that it did. This is an incredible collection with many meaningful pieces. Will definitely explore again.

Picked up an advance copy of this book at AWP, after flipping through it and having “The Last Time I Got [ ]” just grab me by the throat. Every poem in this collection is a knockout, but special shoutout to “Poem in Which Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me,” which you can also read online at Cosmonaut’s Avenue.

The book isn’t officially out until June 2020, but if you’re a fan of works like Siken’s Crush and those poems of Fitzpatrick’s you can read online, I’d definitely recommend a pre-order. I’m sad Goodreads doesn’t have a photo of the cover yet, since it’s gorgeous (from Paul Thek’s Sea Series, if you want to Google it).
