I guess what I really liked about this book is that we've got to see the old familiar characters. There is Grey and Lia Mara and Rhen and there was Harper too.

But to be honest, I've never really cared about Tycho as a character to actually be invested in his story, though it was nice to go deeper into his past story. And he did grow up since we last saw him. Plus, the romance reminded me of the couple in the TV series Young Royals. And Alek, one of the new characters, was quite intriguing.

Unfortunately, the rest of the book felt like it didn't have any plot and we just jumped here and there, following the characters while there were doing nothing. Actually, most of the time I was hoping to read more about Grey than the main characters. I do believe though that the second book will have much more plotwise.

I’m crying. I loved every second of this book and never wanted it to end. I never read the Cursebreakers series but that’s my next course of action while I wait for the next book.

I absolutely adore how one of the main characters is disabled but isn’t infantilised because of it. In fact he’s shown to be incredibly capable and strong just like all the other characters.

I honestly loved every single character. They feel real and human rather than perfect fantasy characters. I loved seeing how Tycho, Jax, and Callyn thought throughout the whole book. I loved their relationships with each other and seeing how they grew together. I felt like the relationship between Tycho and Jax was realistic and decently paced as well which was really nice.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy and wants a realistic (mlm) romance. I really liked that it didn’t feel like it was romance centralised either.

This was the first book that I read in this world, which was perhaps a mistake as I didn’t always understand what were clear references to other books. It did take me a bit to get into this particular story, which I why I’m rating it as 4.5 (rounded down). I found myself hooked a little over halfway in because that’s when the various stories really started converging, pulling me in. Great world building and story telling…just wish I would have started out with an earlier book…oops.

Forging Silver into Stars brings readers back into the realm of the Cursebreakers series in the lands of Emberfall and Syhl Shallow.

We don't necessarily follow closely with the original Cursebreaker characters but instead follow the POV's of Jax the blacksmith, Callyn the baker and Tycho the King's courier.

Admittedly, this book starts off quite slow. It was a close call for a DNF but things start to get interesting as secrets set destiny into action.

Conspiracies against the crown, assassination rumours of a royal and loyalties questioned at every corner.

The slow burn romances with a great payoff and one not so much. This book was hard to put down once I got half way.

But clever Brigid Kemmerer knows how to get you hooked especially at the end
