I actually think that this book can be interpreted in so many ways and therefore Acts as a metaphor for a lot of Things such as the loneliness we as humans experience, or the fear that we have that one day all our loved ones might leave us.
I could go on for deacades, but I think at the end of the day we all have to choose a way to interpret this book that fits for us personally.
It is so beautiful in a heartbreaking way if you think about it.
