Happens rarely but I liked this one even more than the first installment. These are great characters and the writing was better, too. Really enjoyable.
a little "out there" near the end. i suppose it's conceivable as endings go BUT for me it was a bit to saccahrine. great characters and realistic dialogue is what you'll get over all with just a bit of the story making you tilt your head, squint your eyes and say "really? i don't think sooooo..."
A dramatic and heartfelt novel about multiple families living in the suburbs. There are many other novels of the same theme. This story is good, but not as great as other books. Didn't grab my attention as much as I would have liked.
I adore this book and Marisa de los Santos. Looking forward to reading more of her work!
Marisa de Los Santos writes imperfect characters perfectly. (With the divine exception of Cornelia who is my hero.) This novel took such great care to bring these extraordinary people to life, and she does it in such a wonderful, careful, and beautiful way. Five stars to weave such a wonderful story together seamlessly.
Any time a book causes you to reaad late into the night, not even looking at the clock to realize how much sleep you're losing, well, you know it's something special.
Highly recommended.

This sequel to Love Walked In reconnects with Cornelia, Teo, and Clare several years later. Cornelia and Teo have moved to the suburbs and are having trouble fitting in with their neighbors, especially WASPy queen bee Piper. Cornelia befriends another new woman in town, Lake, but is puzzled by her sudden mood swings, especially on the subject of Lake's teenage son. It all leads up to a shocking twist that I, at least, never saw coming. I loved these characters in the first book, and I love them and their new friends even more in this one. Fantastic!
