This was my first ebook on my Kindle which I think is at least in part what I liked so much about it.

The story is told from 3 different characters points of view with chapters alternating between them. I enjoyed this literary device very much because I thought the characters were well developed, believable and quite interesting. They were also complete enough and different enough that I always knew whose perspective I was reading about. The author did a neat job of allowing us to know what each character knew without allowing us to see the whole picture until the time was right. Therefore as the characters made discoveries, so did the reader.

As the story went on and the characters lives began to intermingle, the theme of relationships was very strong. The title, Belong to Me, is meaningful in terms of the theme of the book. It is about belonging to a group, belonging to a spouse, belonging to a parent and the feelings that result when one is asked to share a person with someone else, who can also claim a sense of belonging to or ownership of a person.

I thought the presentation of the complexities of female friendships and the Queenbee and Wannabee roles was very realistically portrayed. Supporting characters were also well-rounded believable people. One could argue that the ending was too neatly packaged and contrived, but I'm rather partial to an open ended happy ending.

A good story wonderfully told. A chick lit book but so much richer and deeper and with a wonderful sense of humor. I was delightfully surprised by her prose.

I really liked this book. Be aware that it is a sequel to "Love Walked In", which I would recommend reading first so you have backstory for some of the characters.

Holy crap this book rocks. ROCKS, I tell you. I read it slowly, savored the amazing language skills and the character development. Cornelia is my very favorite character of all time, seriously. I miss her already!

The thing I loved most about this book was the beautiful figurative language woven throughout it, and the complexity of the characters and their relationships. That said, there was some strong language and inappropriate scenes that will probably keep me from recommending it.

I don't typically like books like this... and this was no exception. By 'these kinds of books' I mean ones following a woman living what for all intents and purposes can be deemed an ordinary life and the ordinary struggles of said life. This is about a woman who goes from big city to suburbia and learns that there's more to those around her than the typical cookie-cutter image. That's exactly what you get, which is not enough for me. I also found this author's writing style hard to take. Her sentences are long and chock full of parenthetical inserts (like this one) and appositives, not unlike this one, and endless witticisms and quotes and on and on. I think I've read other works with a similar style, but it just didn't work for me in this book. Truth be told, I write that way myself (as confirmed by the other reviews I've written and this current parenthetical insert). If nothing else, I have learned from this book that should I ever write a novel, I will be on the lookout for this kind of style so I can trim it down and make it more readable.

I liked it, more than I expected -- B&N has been pushing this one lately and I figured it was more lightweight chick lit. It was more medium weight.

I did not realize that it was a sequel, though. I wish I'd read the other book ([book:Love Walked In]) first.

I loved this book by Marisa de los Santos as well. Her writing is so beautiful - lucid, smooth, and compelling. She has an incredible gift with words. She also does a remarkable job of creating characters who come alive off the pages. She has become one of my favorite authors!

Enjoyed the book! I predicted the big twist early on but found the book still to be entertaining. I like how the chapters were from different perspectives and how all the characters interacted. Piper and Dev were my favorite characters. It was nice to have a male perspective and I found him sweet and kind. Piper was really funny to me. Even when she was harsh she was a true friend and defender to those she loved. I would read another book from this author again.
