This is one of the most boring romance books I've ever read. It was extremely slow and seemed to lag in every way possible. As if it doesn't already have enough going against it, it's the most predictable thing ever. I literally figured out the whole plot within the first few chapters. And yay, there's also insta-lust. Fantastic.

Enjoyed the characters and their attempt at playing games. I liked how the relationship developed over time and was not an immediate thing.
Some drama but not overly done.

Really boring in the first a hundred and so pages. It was ok in the end.
I didn't really get attached to the characters so much, but Hudson and Whitney were pretty cute. ♥

 This book really not working for me. I thought its going to be rom com NA romance. But it turns out too much explanation/dragging on the insight/ self conversation and nothing much on character conversation. 

I even managed to ignore some part of the audiobook while i was eating my lunch. Its that dragging. I keep waiting for climax/ moment but i feel nothing happens.

Loved this book. This was better than the first.

I love the romance between them. I'm not usually into stories with a main being a journalist. I just find they always get into trouble the same way. Thankfully this story didn't go the same way!

Likes: 
Both main characters are likeable. 
Premise is interesting.
Both main characters are hiding something from the other. 
Gradual development of feelings. 
Genuine trust developing through conversation. 
Angst done well.

Dislikes:
Not enough sexual tension. 
Wanted the MMC to remember their first encounter. 

Overall, this is an enjoyable romance, with the main characters developing a bond gradually and genuinely over time.

I feel like there was the potential for a book I would love in this, but there were just all sorts of random minor things that irritated me, and just one or two of them would have been fine, but all of them added together put me off the story quite a bit. I also was annoyed at how long it took Hudson to understand that Whitney was just trying to do her job and be professional and not get so bent out of shape at her trying to stop him from continuously hitting on her and flirting when she was interviewing him. Especially when he was like “Women liked to pretend they could draw the line between professional and personal, but I didn’t buy it. They were just as into looks as guys were, they just didn’t like to admit it.” Like, fuck you??????? That’s not even the point???? Maybe let her do her job rather than trying to treat her like a sexual object at all times????? The first book in this series was definitely much more enjoyable. Cindi Madsen has been kind of hit or miss for me; unfortunately this was one was kind of a miss.
