3 1/2. Lives up to the title, pretty much. The ending is pretty melodramatic, in the way that almost all horror endings are, but as sick day reading goes, I’m very satisfied.

this book was simply very underwhelming. only one chapter consisted of action and the rest built up to it, but poorly. i liked the initial concept and the character relationships but other than that i just found it boring.

This book was a great young adult novel. It didn't have anything too scary. I could see the ending coming from about the half way point, which is why I rated it lower. I also didn't connect to the characters in the story. They were entertaining in the moment but not memorable. I would have liked more plot and suspense from the story.
