Hoping for Her is the first novella of the Harbour Cove series. It was a childhood enemy to the lovers’ story that was heartbreaking. Katie Murray left town after high school and never thought to come back. She moves back when her mother gets diagnosed again with cancer and the doctors say the end is near. While she was in high school her mother got diagnosed with cancer for the first time. Katie had to grow up fast and her life was full of anger which she took out on other students. Drew Mitchell’s life in high school was awful due to Katie but now she lives next to him. He discovers that Katie is not the person he thought she was. The story was short, but the characters were charming, and I loved meeting the side characters. I look forward to the next book in the series which the author gives us a peek at in the end.

This short novel was the perfect mix of angst and love. I wasn’t sure what to expect reading a short book, I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough content but boy was I wrong.

Kate left her small town once but she has been sucked back in to take care of his mother who is in failing health. Her new to her house is in serious need of some TLC but her next-door neighbour is NOT impressed that she has deigned to move back to their home town.
Drew has hated Kate for years. She was always so cold and distant, making sure that he knew exactly how little she thought of him. Now she has moved in next door. He'd love a little revenge if he's completely honest with himself but as more of their past is unfurled, we realise that Kate may not be the queen B that she was painted!
Kate really has been misconstrued by most of the town. She's not quite the B£Atch on wheels that she has been portrayed as. Drew is like a puppy in human form! He just wants to love everyone and have everyone love him. As the relationship between him and Kate changes from enemies to frenemies, to something deeper - well the chemistry between them is incendiary hot!
