This book does so many things wrong. Even if you throw aside the problematic representation of Pacific cultures, and how the story favors the British (“Poor us! Starving! Why won’t the natives let us land on their island!?”) there are still the issues of the weird choppy sentences that are trying (and failing) to look like a sea log from the 1700s, the random capitalizations, the lack of story arc, the boring pictures that do nothing for the tale,... please can I write the world a better Captain Cook book? Also who is Tayeto? Do you mean Taiota?

Yes I have an unfair advantage on this subject but My gosh this was written in 2012.
