Well.....that was eventful!

First of all, this is the longest book I've ever read. Yay me! *in London Tipton's voice*

TBH I don't remember what happened in the 1st half. Then Chapter 54 came and every chapter hit! There's too much to talk about, too much to discuss...I mean obvi, it's ✨14fucking77✨ pages Lord help us.

But a summary of my thoughts is I'm invested. Everything I had a problem with in Of Darkness & Light was addressed in this, thank God. I still think Calen is hella immature, especially
Spoilerafter the tantrum he had toward the end!!!!!!
But I spent time with other characters so I couldn't hear him whine about why everyone dying is his fault or whatever is on that day's agenda.

The way Ryan writes the animal companions and dragons...only someone who knows the pain of losing a pet can write like this. Since Oreo, may she rest in peace, went to Valhalah for dogs this spring, I knowwwww what the Rakina are going through and I know what Ella and Calen are going through. My heart hurts too.

Ryan said this was the “Mid-Season Finale” and it really felt like that. Mr. Cahill you delivered. I say we let this man cook.

Ryan has already posted his 50K milestone for the next one...allegedly that's 12.5% of the book. I want to cry. These huge ass encyclopedias will tko me fr.

Bigger and better. This is exactly the entry this series needed. The multiple POVs were used to great effect here. After enjoying this chunky read, I better understood the hype for the series.

There is one plot hole that got me all fired up. At the end of book two the knights of archyron find Calen. They fight with him and help save him. He finds out one of them is Haim, thought to be dead. Their leader is slain so at the beginning of book three they just bounce. Calen even begs Haim to stay but they all leave. Not a single knight is left to keep the line open with Calen. Then later after the knights work out their situations they're all like... "we got to find Calen. It's important that we protect him." You were right there! You were protecting him! You left like the job was done.
