Speed-ran this book (mostly reading the ebook from my library, sometimes along with the audiobook in my ears) because I found out my auntie had bought me a ticket to see a play adaptation of it for the evening of the 22nd of May :P Made it with 4 hours to spare! But then the play ended up starting with part of book 2, oops.

Anyway, this book was pretty different to what I usually read since it was just so slice-of-life/detailed and was really well written since it managed to not feel tedious or anything. Really interesting look into friendship/neighbourhood politics/privilege in 1950s Italy.
