Oookay, so I'm not quite sure I'm not offended by the book because of the stereotypes and also how an anxiety/panic attacks are cured.
BUT I did like the plot and it was sweet, funny, quick...
So 4 stars for that.
Yeah, and Aiden was one big tool that I wanted to punch throughout the whole book.

Avery Shaw's heart has been broken. Ever since they was born, Avery and Aiden have spent every moment together (their mothers are best friend), including sharing their birthday parties. Avery is completely in love with him. However, Aiden then announces out of the blue that he has quit science club – leaving Avery partner-less for the science fair – and wants to spend less time together.
Avery is completely heartbroken and decides to cope the only way she knows how: turning this into a science experiment. If she can go through the seven stages of grief – shock, denial, bargaining, guilt, anger, depression and finally acceptance and hope - then maybe she can be cured.
In steps Grayson, Aiden's older brother, who seems determined to help Avery through this, even becoming her new science partner, despite his jock reputation, and inviting her into a new circle of friends.
This book was just a lot of fun. The characters were pretty crazy but that made them so likeable. I especially loved the science nerds, especially Libby! Both main characters were cute and lovable. Grayson was pretty hilarious and Avery was so sweet. I liked how they developed as the story progressed.
The writing wasn't exactly perfect... but it was so addictive that I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun story.

Reading challenge 2015: #34 Un libro con triángulo amoroso.
Meh.

I have this stupid grin on my face.
It was an absolutely adorable book, it should totally be made into a Disney Channel movie.

I couldn't stop smiling the whole time I was reading this. :D
*****
I downloaded this book on my kindle, with the intention of reading a few pages and then returning to my homework. Three hours later, I looked up from the screen of my kindle to find that I had sort of kind of accidentally read the entire book. Whoops? It's not like that homework was important or anything...
Clearly, this book is a really fast and addicting read. It's one of the most fun books I've read in awhile, and it was refreshing to read something that made me smile so much and caused me absolutely no stress. I read most of this book with a big, goofy smile on my face, because it's just so adorable! Grayson is the cutest boy ever (well, okay, not EVER but he's definitely one of them) and I adore his relationship with Avery.
The Avery Shaw Experiment is, as the title and cover suggests, about a science experiment. It's a social science experiment, so the book isn't crammed full of confusing equations and various other scientific things that would have made my eyes glaze over. I found the science-y part of the book to be really interesting, and it made a cute romance book super smart and nerdy, which I appreciated since, of course, I'm a huge nerd. :) Also, this book is hilarious. There are so many moments that made me laugh out loud, not to mention all the cute and romantic moments.
This book alternates from the POVs of Avery and Grayson, and I'm so happy that both characters got to have a voice in this story. At first, I found Avery to be a bit unlikable, and it was helpful to be able to see her from Grayson's eyes. Avery has social anxiety, so she is sensitive to a lot of situations in the book, but Grayson handles it really well, and his perspective helps the reader understand Avery a lot better. Personally, I preferred reading from Grayson's point of view. At the beginning of the book, he was a bit of an arrogant jerk, but as Avery gets to know him better, he turns out to be really sweet and cute and caring. I absolutely adore him! :D
I'm a huge fan of contemporary romances, so this book was perfect for me. It's short and sweet, and I had so much fun reading it. When I finished it, I had this ginormous smile on my face, and I was squealing because of the adorableness. This book is a good choice if you're looking for something to cheer you up. I guarantee you'll want to read the entire book immediately, which is totally doable since it's so short and fast. If you're a fan of contemporary romances, I recommend giving this book a shot.
The Avery Experiment was my first Kelly Oram book, but I had such a good experience with it that I plan on reading more of her books very soon. I can't wait to see what else this author has in store. Her books seem like they're all right up my alley, so I have high hopes. :)

4.5 'in the name of science' Stars!

This was honestly one of the cutest books I have ever read. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. When the I read the book blurb it didn't really sound all that interesting. I thought it was a predictable story. But what I got was anything but that. It was sweet, funny, and relatable. I loved it!
The best part of the book was obviously the relationship that develops between Avery and Grayson. It was a cute way how they got closer to each other as the story progressed. At first Grayson is just the older brother of Avery's best guy friend who she is completely in love with. That's what she thinks anyway. Once Aiden - her best friend - ditches her, Grayson comes to the rescue. Feelings develop without warning and a the cutest love story ever ensues.
Grayson Kennedy was easily added to 'My Book Boyfriends' list. He was such a well written male lead. He was funny, crude, and sweet. It wasn't hard at all for me to fall for him. It's no wonder Avery did either. He was the whole package.
Another character I enjoyed was Avery's other friend Libby. She was absolutely hilarious. She had me laughing out loud more times than I can count. Part of me wishes there was another book about her and Owen. I would imagine that would be a very entertaining read haha.
Well, like I said, this book was lovely. I'm pretty sure I've found a new favorite author in Kelly Oram. Can't wait to read more of her books!

“Somewhere between the shower and the Red Bull I fell in love with you, Aves. I’m talking epically. There is no coming back from a fall like mine.”

Cute and fun! Very quick read. In fact, it was so short that at times I felt like I was missing out on a more complete story. Still, I definitely recommend it if this seems like the type of book you feel might be up your alley!
