I came into this thinking it was going to be the usual psychological gory body horror. However, by the end of the book Yolanda turned the natrative on it's head, and you realise the symbolism used of the way that the flesh is cleaved and clayed from the captives body is more suggestive of a deeper meaning.

The story is more of a psychological torture/suspense read than purely just horror and gore. The vivid descriptions unleashed upon the captive is indicative of the way mental illness can tortue the soul to the core.

Although harboured within the horror erotica and body horror subject matter, there are deeper themes at play, a veritably intriguing read.

A truely unique approach, and I'm glad that I gave it a go after seeing reviews on a Facebook page.

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS READ!!!! I don’t even think I moved once after I started reading. I suffer from Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Type One. I go through spouts of deep depression. I also suffer from audible hallucinations. I felt this in my soul.

Good evening, connoisseurs of the macabre,

Allow me to praise the virtues of "Anatomy" by Yolanda Olson – a journey that left me reeling with a resounding "wow." Together with my dear friend Justine, I've been traversing through Olson's body of work, and this latest addition did not disappoint. Brace yourselves, for this is a tale that delves deep into the recesses of psychological terror, ensconced within the realms of Horror Erotica and Body Horror, and it is nothing short of extreme.

The narrative unfolds around our protagonist, a soul who willingly submits herself to the clutches of the "tormentor," seeking redemption for past transgressions. Yet, beware: all is not as it seems, and Olson masterfully keeps readers on their toes, weaving a tapestry of uncertainty and dread.

Despite its brevity, the story maintains a medium pace, allowing ample room for the intricate layers of terror to unfold. The dual POV adds an intriguing twist, though not in the conventional sense – but I'll leave the discovery of its nuances to eager readers.

Yolanda Olson continues to astonish with her artistry, fearlessly delving into the realms of discomfort and unease. I, for one, am utterly captivated.

Remember, dear readers: I am not here to dictate your choices, but merely to offer a glimpse into the dark wonders that await. Whether you choose to heed my recommendation or not, know that I relished every spine-chilling moment of "Anatomy."

Yours in madness,
E

What a bizarre, crazy book

This is the first book I have read by Yolanda Olson and it won't be my last. She writes as though she is in the person's head which makes her words even more profound. I love when an author writes the words and me, the reader, can actually feel it.

[9/77]
β€· this is book 9 of 77 books i have downloaded for free on amazon kindle, so it may be time to finally go through them all. oh god, wish me luck.

i really enjoyed this concept and this writing style. it wasn't quite a dialogue between two people, it was more like the character held a monologue towards us as the targeted person. this was very dark, and very disturbing, and i liked the turn at the end to explain what we just read. i wish there was more explanation, because it did leave us a little hanging, but otherwise it was a captivating read.
3.75 stars!

I really enjoyed reading the ARC of this book.. I don't want to give to much away since it has not been release yet. But the ending I didn't see any of that at all. Must readπŸ’•

I liked the gore, the horror aspect.
I just felt like the story fell flat when it could have been better.
& the ending was quick and done, I expected more.
