There’s not much to say about this book without giving a spoiler. I just need to say that it was such a masterpiece. It kept me sobbing through all the pages but also made me smile and fall in love all over again with the characters that are previously introduced in the series. I highly suggest that you read all of them first, but if you don’t want to, at least read the first one; Lessons in Corruption, and then this one.
It was such an experience reading this book. I tried reading it one day, but I had to stop, today I finished it and I’m blown away. This story is the continuation of the romance between King and Cress, but four years later. Things have changed but their love remains as strong as ever and even a little bit more intense. The story has beautiful poetry excerpts that make your heartache so much. King is such a strong, possessive man but big-hearted that can make you scared and in love from one second to another. Meanwhile, Cress is such a powerful character that grows and turns into a wonderful being, worthy of admiration. Both characters keep surprising me because they have become more than I expected, and their love is so admirable. They are one of my favorite couples ever.
As always Giana finds the exact words to shake up your world. This particular book can make you so emotional and it’s totally worth it. It also has that steam that characterizes Giana’s books, combined with the passion of all the characters involved. Not even a second passes that you could remove your thoughts from it.

Spoiler Spoilers. Discussion.
I feel like I’m floating, it’s so surreal. It’s been quite a few books in the series, and they keep getting better and better. Of course, I still have my favorite intact but this one is a different level. I loved it for many reasons, and it was such an incredible story I can’t get over this experience.
At the beginning of the book, I saw it as if it were Twilight all over again. But I’ve never been more terrified of losing a fictional character so much. I kept telling myself that somehow things would get better and they were, which is why I doubted it meant something good. I was so desperate and felt at some point overwhelmed by the lack of power to get Zeus out of jail. I feel silly but at some point, all I asked for was that some miracle happens. It did. Which made my night because I couldn’t go to sleep with that ending. I was devastated but now I feel healed. I think I have a lot more to say about this book, but I want to keep it short. I just want to say, it’s such a good book.
My favorite moments: The wedding, King’s Ceremony, the reunion, Cress and Zeus before her wedding, and Ares hugging Zeus.

End of Discussion

Thank you, Giana, for making rollercoasters and to think beyond what’s expected. You keep surprising me, and I can’t wait to read more of your work.

This book had me in an absolute chokehold from start to finish. I liked King and Cress in the first book but they are just so much more in this one. The family dynamic of The Fallen holds a special place in my heart. The absolute grief you feel right along with all of them is something else.

I highly recommend you read this book. Of course read the first ones first for an all around great experience, but yeah I’ll be thinkin about this book for a good long while. It’s just that good.

perfectly fine but I didn't like as much as I wanted to. I think this series isn't for me.
