Fui sem grandes expectativas para este livro porque, apesar de gostar da história, a verdade é que já o livro anterior me tinha desiludido um bocadinho. E é com grande tristeza que tenho de dizer que este também desiludiu. A história tem potencial, mas um conjunto de coisas fez com que o livro não funcionasse em perfeição para mim.

O pacing foi uma delas. Num momento do livro parece que estamos a correr uma maratona de tantas coisas que estão a acontecer. Temos info dumping, lutas atrás de lutas e protagonistas a descobrir mais do seu passado. Uns capítulos à frente já parece que não saímos do sítio, o assunto é sempre o mesmo e a história parece que anda em círculos. Foi frustrante porque sinto que se houvesse um balanço melhor no pacing o livro seria muito melhor.

A Poppy também não facilitou as coisas. Não é uma protagonista para todos e apesar de eu até ter gostado dela nos livros anteriores, senti que neste era o livro onde ela tinha mais potencial de brilhar e isso não aconteceu. Continou a ter zero de personalidade, a não acreditar no poder que tem e a depender loucamente do Casteel. Eu gosto deles como um casal, mas a Poppy precisa de não estar tão presa a ele e acreditar mais nela própria.

Como disse anteriormente, a história até tem potencial e foi isso que me prendeu ao livro. Há imensos mistérios por descobrir e o final do livro mostra o quão boa a história é. Temos algumas respostas, temos plot twists e um momento final épico que me deixou a desejar que a Poppy finalmente acorde para a vida no próximo livro.

É um livro com uma história com imenso potencial, mas que podia estar melhor executado.

1. I love Casteel. So much. I loved him when he saved poppy and that entire chapter in the beginning. I loved his sacrifce. I loved his wit. But The backside of loving him i think is that he carried alot of the entire plot.
2. I love Kieran. Give me more of him please.
3. Poppycas supremacy :fire: ALL THE WAYYYYY I LOVED HOW THEY JUST GAHHH I LOVE IT!
4. A lot of info-dumping :/ Which as I said before, was the main hinderance of the plot. Alot of conspiracies, alot of thinking out loud, alot of saying, not much doing fun things and having fun times. Granted they are at war, but the info-dumping still remained.
5. Repetitive sometimes.
6. The ending as you said was amazing. Absolutely lovely to see that small twist that Poppy was always entitled to summon the Draken (i think thats how you spell it)? and the final chapter and warning/message to the Blood Queen was everythinggggg
7. Poppy’s family tree gave me whiplash, again i would have preferred it not all be rushed though in legit the last 5 chapters OMG.
8. The fact that this war will stem from two salty queens fighting for a man... is oddly amazing? Love a good war based on revenge rather then idk, land. psh fighting over land is boring :stuck_out_tongue:
9. DADDY NICK AND HIS CONSORT?! THANK GOD WE GET TO SEE THEIR STORY ARC IN THE NEXT BOOK! I wonder how long it will be... :eyes:

Idk what happened with this book. I really liked the first two books, but there are so many issues I have with this book. The first 25% and last 25% keep you’re interest but the middle was so repetitive and hard to get through. It’s about 300 pages too long. So much information and dialogue that adds nothing to the story.
