easily my favorite of the series. no interest in the ones that occur after the original trilogy, but wouldn't have minded more with Perada and Jos

This is the prequel to the Mageworlds trilogy, and it is much better than most "prequels," being good enough to stand on its own. This is the story of Domina Perada of Entibor and how she wooed Joss Metadi over to be her consort and how she, he, and Errec Ransome, with a nice array of sidekicks, fought the first Mage War, and saw the death of Entibor. Very good, very absorbing.

2019: And it stands the test of time--the whole series does.
