I was hooked to this book the moment I started it. It's *a lot* but in a way I feel really serves the story and the complicated emotions of the characters and the situations they find themselves in.

This book was okay. I liked that it was sapphic. I am surprised that the whole thing was she knew the killer. But then the reader… we didn’t know home. So. Weird choice.

Why is everything about Sal based on sex????? This could have been good, this could have developed, become a good story, and the writer really had to soil the potential for a good friendship, yikes

Angst filled with enough romantic intrigue to balance out the grim realities of Sali’s story. Maggie and Ben and the relationship between these three detectives make the story so much better than the standard police procedural.
Well done. Looking forward to the next book in the trilogy. Not sure Ellendale can top this one.
