Real fairy tales have a lot of horrible things in them like incest and rape...but I wasn't really expecting a modern fairy tale collection to lean so heavily into it. The first few couple of stories were quite good, but the book has multiple stories in a row featuring child rape (some implied, some explicit). This book is not recommended for that reason.
