Started and finished this in less than an hour, I couldn't put it down! I didn't dare to read this alone in my room; the stories can get really creepy and one story actually made me scream when I flipped a page and it was a full picture of a ghoul.

I had a lot of fun and I kept turning the pages for more and more. I guess I never realised how much I actually love horror stories/folklores/urban legends. Will definitely try to keep an eye out for the two other books in this series.

And after all the creepy short stories and songs, it was nice that they made the last chapter to have a humorous version of classic horror tales. At least I could sleep better tonight... or will I?

this was just as delightful as i remember. unfortunately i wasn’t reading the og version with the amazing illustrations so it didn’t spook me as much as it could have. i do like the illustrations in the new edition, they’re just different. i remember so many of these stories to this day though so it deserves credit for that! i still check the back of my car every day because of “high beams”. a super fun quick nostalgic spooky read

This was a pure hit of nostalgia. Brought me back to checking it out at my school library in fourth grade.

I liked revisiting this book and remembering all the stories that scared me as a kid but the stories are definitely not nearly as scary as an adult. Still a fun read though

I remember me and two of my friends at sleepovers would each grab a Scary Stories book and take turns reading the stories out loud. Some of the stories were really good but others...not so much.
