Before Hugh died (and while he was still bedridden), his son Alex interviewed him solely about his wartime experiences. The result is this loving memoir which includes letters, photos and some general WW2 history to give context to the memories. Nibley was truly in the thick of things--his buddies would say about him "everything happens to Nibley but nothing happens to Nibley." This book gives the reader a glimpse of another side of this remarkable man. I miss him terribly.
