Too many characters and not enough substance to the plot. The whole book was about the relationship between the two protagonists, which I thought was well-written to begin with but became very repetitive towards the end without much new material or enough depth to the emotions. I also became very confused about the links between characters - I am partly to blame due to my lack of recognition of Italian names, but there easily could have been less named characters in the book.

Wow! Such a great book. I can’t hear enough of the neighborhood dramas. Love this book and the depiction of childhood friendships.

Took me ages to read as it's quite slow paced and a lot of characters which can get confusing. Overall a sweet book, main characters have a complicated and interesting relationship, some lovely descriptions of suburban/central Naples and the sea also
