I don't want to punish the writer for the fact that I just absolutely hate Chris Christie, but because of that, I did not enjoy this book. I do still think the three stars is warranted, because he got a little sucked into Christie's charm and tries to portray him with what mainstream media writers refer to as "balance," which is to say he doesn't always draw the line between how Christie's egomania, thuggery, and outright corruption did actual harm to the people of New Jersey. He does his best when writing about Camden, and he touches on the real harm done to Shore residents because of Christie's mismanagement of Sandy relief, but anything that doesn't mention that this dude, who framed his public persona around being anti-corruption and "moderate" was actually a wildly corrupt, nihilistic thug. This may have been knocked a bit further home had Christie's eventual endorsement of actual white supremacist made it into the book, but I suspect they rushed this to publication so it would be on the market if Christie's Presidential run had been successful.

Not a bad book though, and pretty enlightening if you want some insight into how Jersey politics works.
