It is part memoir and part intro-to-feminism, speaking to the aches you already know deep inside your bones to be true, and reassuring you that your grievances and your righteous, white-hot anger is understood, necessary, and powerful. It is unapologetic, but served with a good dose of humour and compassion. It is comforting in that it lets you know that you are not alone.
If you are looking for a purely academic text to introduce you to feminism and cover its history, central tenants and theories, this is probably not the right book for you. However, if you're looking for something to ignite or replenish your fight and passion, this is a good place to start! I would recommend reading it with other feminist texts; in particular texts written by women of colour and diverse women.
