Eu fui pega pelo hype das amigas, que amam essa autora. A curiosidade me levou a um livro gostoso, que prendem a atenção e nos fazem devorar rapidamente. Um livro que aborda assuntos bem intensos, tensos, reais, com responsabilidade. Também há momentos de gargalhadas, de coração quentinho e pura magia. As referências inseridas nas cenas, são ótimas e adorei a entrevista no final! Eu achei que no começo a escrita faltava algo, mas ao chegar no final - que sim, é meio de novela - já tinha me arrebatado. Vou daqui direto para o próximo sem nem pestanejar (e que as amigas dizem ser o motivo real do hype kkk).

Is Abby Jimenez my new favorite contemporary romance author??? God, I feel like her stories are so holistic and well done. They touch on more sensitive/serious subjects (because that’s life isn’t it?) but still have this fairytale love feel at the end. I love the split perspectives to really get an appreciation for both MCs and understand what they’re going through. I also love that her male love interests are so clearly obsessed with these powerful, bad ass women! I love that our MMC cries at several points throughout but is still a tough, rural, hands-on manly carpenter man. We need more of that representation for men. I love that our FMC was so amazing she didn’t even realize it thanks to the trash men in her life before… and that all it took was her realizing her worth to give her a happy ending. TW: this book does cover several types of abuse, including physical, emotional and familial/generational.
