This rhyming picture book tells the story of a variety of trucks getting a carwash. With expressive text (bold, capitals, larger words for emphasis) the author really emphasizes the need for expression when reading and will help make this book even more fun for young children to listen to and eventually learn to read. As with many truck books, the text includes the names of the different kinds of trucks, something that I think young children love as they seem to know more about trucks than most licensed drivers do! I would recommend this book to parents of truck-lovers and preschool teachers of children in the age 3-6 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Such a sweet book! Love the rhymes, love the personality-infused trucks, and particularly like that the trucks don't want to have a bath! I can imagine lots of young kids totally identifying with these trucks. Bright engaging illustrations with attention to inclusion. I also loved the small details like a particular cat that keeps on popping up. Parents will appreciate the humor and the upbeat tone. This will be super popular with junior truck lovers and all kids who balk at baths. It will also be popular with caregivers trying to convince their young one into having a bath. A winner all around.

I received a copy of Hooray for Trucks! by Susan Hughes and illustrated by Suharu Ogawa from Susan Hughes and Owlkids Books in exchange for an honest review.

Hooray for Trucks! is a fun and entertaining story about a group of trucks that have to be washed and ready for a celebration; a truck parade. This book is sure to be favourite for young readers who love trucks and it also became a little bit of an education on trucks for myself as I learned the names of all the different trucks.
