This was a Goodreads give away. The "For Beginners" book normally use graphic novel format to offer introductory information about philosophers, historic figures or events. This book has a larger section of prose than other books I'm familiar with in this series. The author focuses more on people and events surrounding Lincoln and on details of the subject himself. This offers a perspective that doesn't mythologize or demonize Lincoln as many others have done. Lincoln is portrayed in a honest way which for me makes his greatness all the more impressive.
