Despite the fact these are for kids and young adults this was an enjoyable collection of stories. The author does a great job at creating atmosphere even if the stories are predictable. Its a low key read and thoroughly entertaining.

Some stories were good and others were extremely predictable.

Old Children's Book. Liked it as a kid, but haven't read it in years.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable collection of short stories and a perfect way to kick off the spooky season!

There is a great variety of types of stories: some told from kid characters and some from adults; some in the present day (well, the 1980's at least) and some in the past; some involving ghosts, witches and vampires, and some involving something more unique. The stories are aimed at children but I really enjoyed reading them as an adult and I felt they weren't too 'childish' at all.

My favourite was Right Inn which I won't say anything about but just know that I loved it! I will definitely keep an eye out for more of these 'Midnight Hour' collections by J.B. Stamper.
