So I love a dystopian and I love me some sci-fi but there were points of this where I was lost. I liked some of the ideas behind his utopian society and the power we give up when we allow the government and technology access to certain things without speaking out. Overall this was just oddly sexual and a bit too scattered but I liked it ok.

I was surprised at how weak Bernard was at the end of the book. I like the subversion of his initial beliefs as he was confronted with being exiled. The conviction of our beliefs can easily change when confonted with the consequences. I loved the writing style and I understand why it's a modern classic!

Food for thought.
I found it rather confusing at first and some suspension of disbelief was necessary because I couldn't quite picture the world the narrator was describing. However, the plot got progressively more interesting and thought provoking.
