Just beautiful. In full disclosure, the author was my teacher and professor in the Fall of 2005 in the truest sense of the words, and I'd also like to call him a friend. Nonetheless, if anyone else can take their bereavement and spin it into this much gold with honesty, humor, light touches of theology, the poetic ability to narrate the rawness of grief and hold it all in the same space with love...well, we need more of that. Step up.
