I had pretty high hopes for this book, and it did not disappoint. My son and I read it together; he's nearly 13. We had a lot of conversations about what we read in this book... International politics, how lifestyles and belief systems vary from country to country, how similar we all are despite those cultural differences, the importance of equal rights and of education.
This book really blessed me. It was such an inspiration and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I loved this book. It was inspiring to read about someone standing up for women's rights for education like that. I can't imagine not being able to go to school. The fact that she continued to speak up, and so eloquently, shows true bravery and determination. Also, she was so young when she started. Truly inspiring. It is a hope of mine as well that children, girls in particular, around the world have access to education.

It is amazing what this young woman has accomplished already in her life. Her situation is far from ideal, but she wasn't afraid to speak up and try and make the lives of women and children better. The story doesn't have any surprises since we already know what happened to her, but that doesn't mean it isn't interesting. It is always fascinating to hear from somebody who grew up in the same world as us, but in a culture that looks at certain things in completely different ways. I look forward to hearing what else Malala has in store for this world.
