My niece is a huge monster fanatic at only four years old --and this was a sure-fire winner. The illustrations reminded me just a little bit of Craig McCrackin's Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends but thats were similarities end. These monsters are one-of-a-kind to The Monstore...but they never seem to work in the way you'd expect --just remember: no refunds, no exchanges, no exceptions.

Zach purchases a monster to scare away his sister, but when she apparently "tames" the monster he demands a refund. When that doesn't work, Zach brings home a new monster. Thus begins a cycle of silliness. Readers will enjoy the unique monsters and the playful tone. Perfect for fans of Monsters Inc or Halloween spookiness.

For: monster fans; readers looking for a book with safe scares/friendly monsters.

Possible red flags: sibling rivalry; capitalism.

This was a super adorable book! Zack needs a monster to help keep his little sister out of his room. But the monster doesn't work out exactly and the Monstore doesn't allow returns. The story itself is very cute and fun but the art is what makes the book great. It's a very bright and cheerful design- almost animation style- and the monsters look fun.

This book was so cute! The illustrations were amazingly fun and colourful, and really helped add to the story. Definitely using this book in programming.

Cute story about The Monstore - a place where you can buy a variety of monsters to fit your purpose. If I were a kid, I'd buy the one with the light so you can sneak reading in bed!
Zack keeps trying to buy different monsters to help keep his kid sister, Gracie, out of his room. But each monster ends up bonding with his sister and causing more trouble for Zack.
Good for teaching problem/solution.

Hahaha, a cute story of a brother who buys more and more monsters to scare his sister away from his room. Kids will relate to the story and enjoy it thoroughly.
