I originally had a problem with the Kindle file for this book. Cover was correct, but the text was from the first book in this series. After mailing the publisher, they sent a corrected version of the file.

It's a continuation from book 1, with Marion's brother still in jail and her family about to be ruined by the Sheriff and Prince John.

It follows some of the already known Robin Hood stories (helping an impoverished knight, that archery contest), but the author puts his own spin on it.

The character descriptions and mannerisms fit the Jason Connery era Robin of Sherwood TV series, which is no bad thing, although this novel is slightly darker/grittier in places than that.

The author has done his research of the places, real people and customs of the time, but feels compelled to finish each chapter with a set of foot notes to explain various parts. This can sometimes break up the flow of the story.

Definitely a good read for anyone who likes the Robin Hood of screen or legend.
