This is the first book by a West Papuan author to be translated into English. So I was very excited to find it while I was in Bali.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Harvesting the Storm is a fable, told mostly from the perspective of a fish. The interconnected lives of the Indigenous people (like the author himself) and the plants an animals of the land and sea are woven together in a series of stories that include lessons or morals.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's an interesting read from a political perspective, and also more simply for the tales themselves, and I'm glad I was able to read it.
