The only other Marie Force book I have read is One Year Home and that just blew my socks off, absolutely loved it.

Having never read this author before I thought I would give another one of her books ago. The style of the writing is again very good. The story and the backgrounds were well thought out.

There were two things I didn’t like: how some of the sex scenes where worded for me was a little “too sweet in places” examples “lost in purest bliss” “she quivered from the aftershocks”. Also Grayson and Emma got together very quickly and within a week they were in love and making life changing decisions.

I’m going to list the things I did like: The background story with Simone and how she was conceived (would have been nice imo to go into this a little more in depth). Simone’s character was sweet, a lovely little 9 year old girl and I liked her relationship with Grayson. Grayson’s relationship with his father and the decision he had to make, that was a very hard decision and I felt he did the right thing. I also liked the other couples cropping up in the book, in particular Hannah’s part about her premature labour, it was a shame I hadn’t read the other books to get a feel of the characters.

The dislikes are not a criticism of the overall story because I did like it, they were just a couple of things that didn’t work for me. I’m certainly going to be reading more of this author.

Dec 2020 - update - I have since read most of the Gansett Island series by this author & have fallen a little in love with all the characters- I’m going to give the Vermont series ago, it probably didn’t help that I read this book out of order- not knowing any of the other characters.

A wonderful addition to the Abbott and Coleman stories. Grayson Coleman has never wanted a relationship after being abandoned by his father at age 16. He had to grow up fast. He had to deal with a very bitter mother. Why risk it. Emma has kept herself and her daughter, Simone, in a protective bubble from the very beginning. Letting someone in had too many risks. Risks she didn't want to take.

Gramps and Linc won't let their issues stand in the way of a great match making scheme. Lots of surprises, shocks, and Oh My's in this installment. Catch up with everyone in Butler, Vermont. Don't forget the cocoa, it is snowing outside.

While I did enjoy this story, much is said about how the characters just instantly connected. Telling each other things they've never shared with anybody else. I wish Force had spent more time exploring this. I wanted more of a build up to why that comfort between Grayson and Emma existed.

I also am slightly bothered by this being yet one more relationship in this series where the women must make the physical move to Vermont. Grayson could have easily restarted in NY. Honestly I was kind of hoping for that, especially with Simone involved. To uproot her life too seemed a bit much. I was happy with Lucy and Colton's book and how it was decided that they would split their time between VT and NY, yet here we are several books later and they admit they spend almost all their time in VT. I think it just bothers me because I want one of the men to have to make the big move and the big upheaval. All the women in this series so far give up their homes to move into the men's homes. Where are the gigantic gestures the men must make for the women?!?!

Another fantastic book in what was the Green Mountain Series. I loved both Grayson and Emma, not to mention the adorable Simone. Who was such a cutie and completely stole my heart.

As for the story itself it was so enjoyable to read. It had me hooked in literally from the first paragraph. Which is honestly nothing new for me. When it comes to Marie Force novels and it kept me thoroughly entertained throughout.

With plenty of hot moments and the chance to catch up with previous characters including Hannah and Nolan as they have their baby and Colton and Lucy who finally set a wedding date. This story really had it all, plus a perfect blend of emotion, sweetness and love and I would definitely recommend it to others. Especially anyone who is a fan of this author/series.

I didn’t realize until the beginning of the book this is a continuation of the Green Mountain series that I love so much. Just with a different series name. I am glad I gave it a shot. I missed these characters.

I like that we got a little of the past characters and new ones as well. Joan Delaware is great for all the female voices and especially the daughters but I didn’t really like her for Grayson she wasn’t bad by any means just wished we had a male narrator for his parts.

Overall I enjoyed and can’t wait to continue this series.

Technically I'd give this 41/2 stars out of 5, just due to personal preference, because I could have done without one-one and half scenes, but otherwise Marie has another hit on her hands.
One inconsistency with a previous book- Hannah had told her mother who told Linc that they were having a girl, however in this book both Hannah and Nolan as well as Molly and Linc acted like they didn't know.
Absolutely loved this book. We got 2 love stories - Gray & Emma and Gray & Simone. I would have loved just a little bit more Gray and Simone interaction. She was so adorable. This book had me laughing out loud. This was such a great continuation of the Green Mountain series. Cannot wait for the next book in this series.
