Better than Kramers Ergot 5. I don't know how it compares to KE7 bc it was so stupid big I didn't wanna check it out. I may now, though, bc these collections are pretty amazing.

Another mixed bag from Kramer's Ergot, but better than Ergot 5.

Again: I like experimentation, but some of the ideas here, especially when they seem to be leaning in the direction of a fairly standard narrative, need more shape.

Some of it is just beyond my grasp, and that's a personal. issue. Marc Bell, like Chris Ware, is a workout for me, and so I acknowledge my own shortcomings in struggling with their work.

But others in this collection, at least by my perception, are easy to get and just not all that worthwhile. I found myself asking, "Yes, and?" a lot as I read this. Not with all of the selections, but with more than I do in a Best American Comics collection.

Take a walk on the weird side with Kramer's Ergot. It's not always stellar, but I guarantee you'll find something intriguing herein.
