Loved the look at Atticus before the series start. Really loved Oberon! Glad that the doggy was heavily featured!

Gotta love Atticus and Oberon. This prequel tale was interesting and shows what Atticus's real purpose as a Druid of Gaia is.

Another short novella featuring the Iron Druid. An Egyptian mage comes looking for a grimoire that supposedly contains thirteen recipes for cooking lamb. Mayhem ensues, as usual.

This short story was funny and entertaining. For some reason I prefer the books that take place before Atticus took on Granuaile as an apprentice. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed all of Hearne's books so far, but pre Granuaile books just make me laugh more. As such, no complaints on this one!

audible version - not that great - the dog voice is off-putting. Probably will stick to the written word on this one.,

Grimoire of the Lamb is a novella introducing us to Atticus O’Sullivan a Druid who has a puncheon for messing with the gods.

This novella was a blast! It was so much fun and a great introduction to The Iron Druid Chronicles. In a way it reminded me a little of Jim Butchers, The Dresden Series, but more light in tone with lots of action.

Atticus is a lot of fun. He’s a book collector and seller. Some of his items are rare and dangerous. He receives a call about a rare Egyptian cookbook that he stole, called The Grimoire of Lambs. He won’t sell it to just anyone and so he has the collector come to him. Things don’t go as planed and he must get the book back.

Kevin Hearne is a talented author. I was captivated from begging to end with this novella. I enjoyed the adventure we are taking on in stoping the bad guy and introducing us to the world. My favorite character is Atticus’s Irish Wolfhound, Oberon. He is just a hoot. I laughed every time he talked.

Audio: I’m so glad this novella is in audio. Luke Daniels brings Atticus and his hound, Oberon, to life. It’s a quick listen and a good glimpse into the world.

The Grimoire of the Lamb is perfect for fans of Urban Fantasy. I’m looking forward to continue my listen of The Iron Druid Chronicles.

Interesting world, fantastically interesting magic system. Looking forward to getting my hands on the first book and seeing where that takes me. But any world where gods walk and Wolf dogs talk is ok in my book. Plus Bast religious sex book is hilarious. (Plot involves an ancient Egyptian recipe book being stolen and the fight to get it back.)

Atticus receives an enquiry from Egypt, wanting to buy a rare cook book that he might own. In fact Atticus stole it and realising how dangerous it is, he refuses to sell and is surprised when Elkhashab has the power to steal the book from him. So Atticus and Oberon go on a road trip to Egypt to find a way to steal it back.

This book is a bit longer than the other short stories I've read in the series so it was good to get my teeth into a longer adventure before I catch up with the novels in the series. I'm glad Oberon went along for the trip because who doesn't love a dog that can communicate with his owner!

There were some really good elements of mythology in this book, and as I have always been interested in Ancient Egypt and its gods, this was fun! I loved Bast, out for revenge on Atticus for stealing her books, determined to subject them to death by kitty. I loved the cat chase scene! It was like a zombie novel! The attack on the booby trapped home of the crocodile priest was also exciting and intriguing.

A good read for fans of the series.

A nice easy to read short story that kept me going in between a couple of other books when I should have been studying.
