Way too much prison, cops and general malaise for me. Also, I had picked up as it mentioned St. Louis, where I'm a 19 yr transplant but didn't find much about our fair city except a couple of digs of the Riverfront Times and a Webster (Groves) mention. If you're looking for a great book about St. Louis, in short story form, I'd pick up The Middle of the Night:stories by Dan Stolar.
