Errol doesn't think he's anything special and the other animals at school make fun of him. When the school announces that there will be a talent show, Errol struggles to find something that he's good at and gets very depressed. His father gives him a book about elephants and Errol suddenly realizes that he can do lots of things. While it was a cute idea that Errol suddenly came out victorious, he didn't do so until reading a book which told him his talents. He didn't realize it on his own. This seemed to me as though the message was a little mixed and it didn't really feel continuous because of it. Until that point in the book, I loved it but then my enthusiasm dwindled.
