"Handymen....Twilights....Come Out to Playyyy!" - The Destroyers, if they quoted the iconic line from the film, "Warriors".

The makings of a wide spread, bloodbath are in the works for future volumes of "Gangsta", and everyone must pick their loyalties and actions wisely. From cover to cover it moves fast, and no doubt future volumes will do the same.

But when there is a pause in the action there is plot. When there is the end of one character it is a chance for another's entrance. While no one will walk away unscathed, some will be luckier than others, and will cause the reader to sigh a degree of relief.

I think there will come a time where I will need to see a visual map of aligences and family ties, and locating one will help kill the time while waiting for Volume 6 to arrive.

It’s always been kind of difficult for me to follow all of the families and their separate motives/allies in this story, and this volume was probably the most confusing yet. Either way, the art is just stunning and I love the main characters, so I’ll end up finishing the series for Worick, Alex and Nico regardless.

Art is excellent as always. Actually better in this volume because it has fewer of the features I disliked in previous volumes. Story is growing and developing.

Gangsta started picking up in Volume 4, and it keeps getting better in Volume 5. The character interactions, the pacing, the suspense, the backstory reveals... it's all really working.

I was close to crying at several brutal parts in this book even though I had already seen them (and had already bawled) through the same events when I watched the anime. The rollercoaster of feels for these characters whose chances at survival are painfully tangled together is just as intense here in writing.

As this is the last volume that was adapted for the television show, my prior knowledge ends with Gangsta 5. I can't say I'm "pumped" to read what will no doubt be another emotionally savage volume, but I've also grown attached to so many of these characters and I really want to know what happens to them.
