This was adorable and funny. Though it took a bit to get to the spice, I loved the romance and honestly both characters so much! A great Christmas novella.

Interesting concept but my butt cheeks were clenched the entire time thinking he was gonna confess to being attracted to her when he was 17 and she was 11. He didn't. But, still. Too much clenching. Also I didn't really feel the chemistry but some of it was funny. I would read a full length novel by this author to see what she's really about.

Meh
I wouldn’t recommend this book personally
It wasn’t a bad book however, it wasn’t amazing neither.
I liked the setting of the town and other Christmassy aspects however, the plot just wasn’t really there and I just wanted to finish the book asap…

This delightfully holiday-themed Christmas novella was perfect. If you're looking for a quick read that not only helps you toward your 2023 reading goals but also checks those spicy holiday boxes, this is one you're going to have to try.
This story deals with childhood trauma as the main motivator for the FMCs decision to stay aloof and unattached except for the Christmas season and as we adventure through a wild few days before the holiday, we glimpse a bit more of the story until all is revealed in a heartwarming confession. There's plenty of Christmas puns and holiday references as part of the FMCs inner-dialogue and the town where the bulk of the story takes place in is described as being plucked straight from a Thomas Kinkade painting.
I will say that the way the FMC and MMC meet back up in The Future is a real Hallmark-movie-moment but the banter, the FMCs job (writing and illustrating spicy Santas, lol) and the overall chemistry is anything but Hallmark G-rated. Like I told a friend of mine, I was half convinced by the end that maybe I was also attracted to fake Santas and to me, that's really a marker of a great writer.
If you like:
- the holiday classic film "The Santa Clause" but imagine it was Chris Hemsworth instead of Tim Allen and the transition to Santa did not include growing holly-and-jolly
- contemporary romance stories with healthy doses of kismet and second chances
- a little bit of reality to sprinkle in with your super-saccharine holiday spirit (be sure to read the author's note)
.. add this to your holiday reading list and find yourself giggling and sighing over this happy-ever-after Christmas novella.

Ok went into this because I thought the concept of kinky Santa Claus was funny, but honestly it wasn’t too horrible. Wasn’t great by any means but I think the story was somewhat endearing. 2.5 Stars

Super cute little novella. Kinda corny but in that perfect lifetime holiday movie kinda way but with much better spice.

Not me reading this during a heat wave in July in an attempt to see if reading a holiday book will help me cool down. Can confirm this was the wrong book for that because holy hell spicy.
Wouldn’t have hated if this was a full length novel, but I think that’s the mark of a good novella :)

I enjoyed this age gap holiday romance novella between a silver fox bar tender (Santa look alike) and a writer trying to find inspiration for her next book while also getting over a break up. Lots of Hallmark style fun and romance and just an overall enjoyable read with LOTS of holiday puns!
