Humorous, fast-moving, good observations and pretty solid writing. Just a fairly generic story about a woman finding herself through various connections with her con-father, dead-beat mother and love of her life, John. *spoiler* Amy finds resolution and closure and gets back together with John after he accuses her of being difficult to connect with.
Enjoyable, and creates a great image of a woman in her 30's in New York City. Not stunning or stellar, but very enjoyable.

Fun, absorbing page turner about a bright, gutsy woman who seeks the mother who abandoned her as a baby.

Susan Isaacs is reliably entertaining, witty, and insightful and I've never read anything by her that I didn't like. This was definitely not one of my all-time favorites and I had trouble warming up to the protagonist—-but it was an enjoyable quick read.

While the premise of the book was interesting enough, the main character is just so pretentious, catty, and at times downright mean, I found it difficult to get to the end. I had such a hard time finding anything likable about this girl, from her petty rationale about John to the awkward back-and-forth between her and the estranged mother. If you're looking for a book that will bring up some actual emotion, this ain't it.
