I’m a bit disappointed in this. I didn’t really vibe with the characters, and the way the story was told left me wanting more. The sort of insta-love didn’t pull me in, and not even the villains interested me.

I do have to say, though, that I loved reading about Batuu. I’m going back to Disney World next week and reading about all the little corners of BSO made me even more excited to visit it again.

I do wish we’d seen Hondo. My enjoyment of this book might have gone up to 3.5 ⭐️ if he’d taken part in the shenanigans…

For the first Star Wars book that I've read... I wasn't all that impressed. Granted probably not the best choice to start with but it was available.
I was expecting more, I guess. There was no real mention of the Resistance or Vader or the Death Star or any of that really. Stormtroopers are mentioned, but they aren't a big part of the story like most of the others. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. But this felt more like a love story than anything else.

I really enjoyed this story and these characters. It was a liiiittle slow moving - not boring at all, but since everything happened in one day, to fill a whole book, it just took a while for each thing to happen, lol. I’d still recommend. It was fun seeing the Resistance in the periphery.

I absolutely loved this book! I received it for my birthday and read through it in a few days. The characters, setting, and story were fantastic and everything resonated with me in a way I haven’t found a Star Wars Novel to do in a long while! Five Stars easily!! I was so happy with this book!

While I did have a fun time with this book (I didn't finish it in one sitting for nothing (god do you go through this book QUICK!)), it didn't manage to spark something in me like other books tend to do.

It focuses on the characters and the romance between them after seeing each other again after so many years. It's your typical friends-to-lovers story, and there's nothing wrong with that. They both deny it at first, while we know from the start it will happen and while it grows and grows, you know the moment they will kiss is growing nearer and nearer. It's cute, it's endearing and you want it to happen. But that's about it, for me. The book's story itself, while not bad, didn't manage to grip me once, and all I thought throughout it was 'This is like a Lost Stars lite' or something. It does what it does.... Fine, I guess? But it gets overshadowed by what it —unknowingly—tries to be.

Jules and Izzy were best friends as kids, but Izzy’s family moved away in the middle of the night before the two could say goodbye. They both wondered about each other for years. Now, Izzy is back and she’s brought trouble. Jules isn’t sure what to make of her. While on the run from smugglers and an angry pirate, the two will come to terms with their feelings and what they mean to each other.

This was a fun one. I actually started this book while waiting in line at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World. I think that’s part of the reason I liked it so much. The book has connections with the park, both take place on Batuu, and there are actual places you can visit like Oga’s Cantina.

I loved Jules and Izzy. I found myself wanting to know more about them and their families. It was fun following their adventure and watching them discover their feelings about one another.

Córdova does a great job making this one feel cinematic. It felt like I could be reading a script for a new tv show. Which leads to my only complaint, I want more. Characters are introduced and events take place that definitely need more exploration. Especially the ending, what happens next?!?! To my knowledge this will remain a standalone.

I recommend this one if you’re a sci-if fan. If you’re looking for a space opera, there’s not a lot of space travel, BUT there’s a lot of drama and action. A Crash of Fate is a fun romp Star Wars fans will enjoy! Definitely put it on your list if you’re visiting Disney soon!

Good YA novel for those who miss going to Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios. At times the characters frustrated me but I loved all of the Batuu easter eggs scattered throughout the book.
